Made another video. Come follow me on a trip down memory lane where I discuss the importance of keeping the past alive. There’s talk about working in a pub, child killers, and the death of a drug addict, of which I am neither. I also read two pieces from the second volume of A Journal for Damned Lovers. Those pieces are, Not Like That, Like This, and Black Tights.
There are so many memories that I’ve already committed to paper, but the strength of them still persists and I don’t feel I’ve adequately articulated the feelings and the imagery, and the significance of them. I hope, assuming I improve as a writer as I get older, that one day these memories will get the memorial that they deserve, and then maybe they will just evaporate. Kind of like trying to put out a bonfire that keeps sparking back into life – one day, you’ll do it properly and it’ll be gone from your mind, transferred forever onto text.
I think only now am I personally able to write and discuss certain memories. Not because they’re painful, but because I just didn’t have the right tools to do them justice before. Hopefully, along with my ever increasing collection of grey hairs, I’ll have more in the box to challenge those past events and give them the respect they deserve, as it were.

Drinking your pay doesn’t sound too horrible but 5 pounds an hour sounds dreadful. Ha. Really enjoyed this and the view of all the books behind you.
Yeah, 5 pounds an hour wasn’t great. Still, I was drunk all the time I worked there, so it wasn’t all bad. I’m glad you enjoyed watching, thank you.

I’m so glad you do. I shall try and make a decent follow-up for next week. I think as long as you do something with your memories, and not just dwell on them, you can’t lose. We have several lifetimes of experience to capture, and capture them we must. X
