The sun rises in all places,
even here, across these headstones,
casting beams of sunlight
onto pavement and grass.
Everything is asleep,
except her, a lone wanderer
who likes the taste of 7am
and the way the sky blushes
as the moon whispers goodbye
and the sun, hello.
Everything is silent,
apart from her heart
which thunders in memory
of him.
The clouds are gilded in gold,
fingertip lining, a reminder
of the life she felt with him.
Much like these buried lovers
and their beloveds
above and below.
Shadow lingers, seeking
a home in the girl
lost in Aurora’s graveyard,
amongst flowers and shades
of solemn remembrance.
