I once was broken 

but now I’m a changing man 

where once there was only guilt and regret 

there now rages a fire 

that speaks without fear 

the bottom of a bottle never gave me release 

running into the night 

never came close 

to saving my soul 

salvation comes only from truth 

from facing head on those ghosts that haunt 

and taunt 

so cruel 

it comes from breaking free 

of the chains we forge without even knowing 

it comes from love 

for only love can save us 

from the demons 

that lurk in the shadows of our minds
